Parks Should Be Open and Accessible for People

We believe that city parks should be first and foremost places for the members of the surrounding communities.

We believe that urban parks are safest when a wide variety of people use them, for a variety of activities and at a variety of times.
A busy park is a safe park, including at night.

We do not want to see our parks fenced, gated, or closed at arbitrary hours.

We do not want to see our parks converted to privatized or tourist-oriented operations.

We do not want to rely on police for park safety.

We believe that the people of the South Side deserve as much investment and respect as our North Side counterparts.
